Magnesium nitrate refers to inorganic compounds with the formula Mg(NO3)2(H2O)x, where x = 6, 2, and 0. All are white solids. The anhydrous material is hygroscopic, quickly forming the hexahydrate upon standing in the air. All of the salts are very soluble in both water and ethanol.

Magnesium Nitrate formula, also known as Magnesium dinitrate formula is explained in this article. It is an inorganic nitrate salt of magnesium. In anhydrous form it is hygroscopic and forms hexahydrate when comes in contact with the air. The chemical or molecular formula of Magnesium Nitrate is Mg(NO3)2.

It is a crystalline solid white in color which has no odor and is readily soluble in water and ethanol. Naturally, it occurs as nitromagnesite found in only caverns and mines.

The principal use is as a dehydrating agent in the preparation of concentrated nitric acid.

Its fertilizer grade has 10.5% nitrogen and 9.4% magnesium, so it is listed as 10.5-0-0 + 9.4% Mg. Fertilizer blends containing magnesium nitrate also have ammonium nitrate, calcium nitrate, potassium nitrate, and micronutrients in most cases; these blends are used in the greenhouse and hydroponics trade.

We are supplied to various industrial markets including Household, Institutional Cleaning, Personal Care, and Industrial sectors including Oil fields, chemical, Animal feed additive, Food additive, Agrochemical, Fertilizer, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, Minerals, Lubricants, Marine Industry, Metal Working chemical industry, and Coatings markets.

Manganese(II) sulfate usually refers to the inorganic compound with the formula MnSO4·H2O. This pale pink deliquescent solid is a commercially significant manganese(II) salt. Approximately 260,000 tonnes of manganese(II) sulfate were produced worldwide in 2005. It is the precursor to manganese metal and many other chemical compounds. Manganese-deficient soil is remediated with this salt.

Applications and production

Typically, manganese ores are purified by their conversion to manganese(II) sulfate. Treatment of aqueous solutions of the sulfate with sodium carbonate leads to precipitation of manganese carbonate, which can be calcined to give the oxides MnOx. In the laboratory, manganese sulfate can be made by treating manganese dioxide with sulfur dioxide:

MnO2 + SO2 + H2O → MnSO4(H2O)

It can also be made by mixing potassium permanganate with sodium bisulfate and hydrogen peroxide.

Manganese sulfate is a by-product of various industrially significant oxidations that use manganese dioxide, including the manufacture of hydroquinone and anisaldehyde.

Electrolysis of manganese sulfate yields manganese dioxide, which is called EMD for electrolytic manganese dioxide. Alternatively oxidation of manganese sulfate with potassium permanganate yields the so-called chemical manganese dioxide (CMD). These materials, especially EMD, are used in dry-cell batteries.

Canada Chemicals is one of the leading Potassium humate Exporters, Manufacturers, Suppliers, and Producers in Vancouver, Montreal, Ontario, Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa Canada. We are supplied to various industrial markets including Household, Institutional Cleaning, Personal Care, and Industrial sectors including Oil fields, chemical, Animal feed additive, Food additive, Agrochemical, Fertilizer, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, Minerals, Lubricants, Marine Industry, Metal Working chemical industry, and Coatings markets.

Potassium humate is the potassium salt of humic acid. It is manufactured commercially by alkaline extraction of brown coal (lignite) Leonardite to be used mainly as a soil conditioner. The extraction is performed in water with the addition of potassium hydroxide (KOH), sequestering agents, and hydrotropic surfactants. Heat is used to increase the solubility of humic acids and hence more potassium humate can be extracted.

Potassium Humate is potassium salt of humic acid from high-grade Leonardite. It is a high-quality plant stimulant and soil conditioner and can be applied in landscapes and gardens as well as for all agricultural and horticultural plants. It also could stimulate seed germination. With a high concentration of humic acid, it could be stored and transported easily. Its solubility is excellent and could be formulated by different fertilizers and pesticides.

Advantage:

Foliar Application:
Stimulate plant growth (increased biomass production)
Increase yield and improves quality of plants
Improve nutrient uptake through the leaves and roots
Improve the effectiveness of pesticides

Soil Application:

Improve the soil structure
Reduce nutrient losses
Improve nutrient uptake by the root system
Promote root development
Increase microbiological activity of soil
Increase capacities of water holding and cation exchange

The resulting liquid is dried to produce the amorphous crystalline-like product which can then be added as a granule to fertilizer. The potassium humate granules by way of chemical extraction lose their hydrophobic properties and are now soluble. Depending on the source material product quality varies. High-quality oxidized lignite (brown coal), usually referred to as leonardite, is the best source material for the extraction of large quantities of potassium humate. The less oxidized the coal the less potassium humate extracted.

Sources low in ash produce the best quality. Less oxidized brown coal contains a higher proportion of the insoluble humin fraction and along with peat which is lower in humic acid content and usually high in ash content requires separation by filtration or centrifugation to remove ash, humin. Peat is also high in non-humified organic matter that needs to be reduced to produce a high-quality product.

The benefit of peat is that it is usually 2-3 times higher in fulvic acid content, which are the low molecular weight fractions of humic acid that are high in oxygen-containing functional groups and soluble at a low pH of <1. Fulvic acids have a higher cation exchange capacity and therefore have a higher chemical interaction with fertilizers and are able to form soluble chelates of trace metals.

It is used in agriculture as a fertilizer additive to increase the efficiency of fertilizers especially nitrogen and phosphorus-based fertilizer inputs. Other salts of humic acid are manufactured, mainly sodium humate which is used in animal health supplements. It also can be used in Aquaculture.

Canada Chemicals is one of the leading Potassium sulfate Exporters, Manufacturers, Suppliers, and Producers in Vancouver, Montreal, Ontario, Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa Canada. We are supplied to various industrial markets including Household, Institutional Cleaning, Personal Care, and Industrial sectors including Oil fields, chemical, Animal feed additive, Food additive, Agrochemical, Fertilizer, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, Minerals, Lubricants, Marine Industry, Metal Working chemical industry, and Coatings markets.

Potassium sulfate (US) or potassium sulfate (UK), also called sulfate of potash (SOP), arcanite, or archaically potash of sulfur is the inorganic compound with formula K2SO4, a white water-soluble solid. It is commonly used in fertilizers, providing both potassium and sulfur.

The dominant use of potassium sulfate is as a fertilizer. K2SO4 does not contain chloride, which can be harmful to some crops. Potassium sulfate is preferred for these crops, which include tobacco and some fruits and vegetables. Crops that are less sensitive may still require potassium sulfate for optimal growth if the soil accumulates chloride from irrigation water.

The crude salt is also used occasionally in the manufacture of glass. Potassium sulfate is also used as a flash reducer in artillery propellant charges. It reduces muzzle flash, flareback, and blast overpressure.

It is sometimes used as an alternative blast media similar to soda in soda blasting as it is harder and similarly water-soluble.

Potassium sulfate can also be used in pyrotechnics in combination with potassium nitrate to generate a purple flame.

K2SO4 Uses (Potassium sulfate)

Potassium sulfate is dominantly used as a fertilizer for crops which include tobacco, some vegetables, and fruits.
Potassium sulfate is used as a salt substitute.
Potassium sulfate is used in artillery propellant charges as a flash reducer.

Potassium sulfate is used in soda blasting.
Potassium sulfate is used as a supplement for animal feeds.
Potassium sulfate is used in the production of lubricants and dyes.
Potassium sulfate is used in the manufacturing of ceramics and glass.

Potassium sulfate is used in the production of gypsum board.
Potassium sulfate is used to synthesize potassium aluminium sulfate.
Potassium sulfate is used to produce gypsum cement.
Potassium sulfate is used in explosives as a flash suppressant.

 Applications:

1)Used for drugs (such as laxatives), fertilizer(about 50% potassium, potassium is a quick, can be used as basic fertilizer, seed fertilizer and top dressing). Also used for making alum, glass, and potassium carbonate.
(2) Potassium Sulphate can be used as the raw material to produce multiple-element compound fertilizer, or as potassium fertilizer to fertilize field, especially applicable to chloride-resistant industrial crops such as tobacco, grape, cotton, beet.

Potassium sulphate is an important chlorine-free potassium fertilizer containing sulfur and potassium. K2O content is 50%-52%, and the S content is about 17%-18%. Agricultural potassium sulfate is mostly pale yellow. Potassium sulfate is a water-soluble potassium fertilizer because of its low moisture absorption, non-caking, good physical properties and convenient application. Potassium sulfate is especially suitable for cash crops that are resistant to chlorine and like potassium, such as tobacco, grapes, beet, tea, potatoes, flax and various fruit trees. It is also the main raw material for making chlorine-free nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium ternary compound fertilizer. Potassium sulfate is a chemical neutral and physiological acidic fertilizer, which is suitable for a variety of soils (excluding flooded soils) and crops.

Potassium sulphate is a chemical neutral and physical acid fertilizer, which is widely used in all kinds of soil and crops, especially for avoiding chloride. Potassium sulphate replaces potassium chloride and becomes a good potassium fertilizer. Potassium sulfate is a very good water-soluble potassium fertilizer because of its low hygroscopicity, low caking, good physical properties and convenient application. Potassium sulphate is especially suitable for cash crops that are not chlorpyrifos, such as tobacco, grape, beet, tea, potato, flax and various fruit trees.

The specific use methods are as follows:

1. It can be used as base fertilizer. When potassium sulfate is used as base fertilizer in the dry field, it is necessary to deeply cover the soil to reduce the crystal fixation of potassium, facilitate the absorption of crop roots and improve the utilization rate.

2. As topdressing. As the mobility of potassium in the soil is small, it should be applied to the soil layer with dense root system in order to promote the absorption.

3. It can be used as seed fertilizer and root top dressing. The amount of seed fertilizer used per mu is 1.5-2.5kg, which can also be made into 2% - 3% solution and used as external topdressing.

Canada Chemicals is one of the leading Ethylene glycol Exporters, Manufacturers, Suppliers, and Producers in Vancouver, Montreal, Ontario, Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa Canada. We are supplied to various industrial markets including Household, Institutional Cleaning, Personal Care, and Industrial sectors including Oil fields, chemical, Animal feed additive, Food additive, Agrochemical, Fertilizer, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, Minerals, Lubricants, Marine Industry, Metal Working chemical industry, and Coatings markets.

Ethylene glycol (IUPAC name: ethane-1,2-diol) is an organic compound with the formula (CH2OH)2. It is mainly used for two purposes, as a raw material in the manufacture of polyester fibers and for antifreeze formulations. It is an odorless, colorless, sweet-tasting, viscous liquid.

Ethylene Glycol is mainly used for two purposes, as a raw material in the manufacture of polyester fibers and for antifreeze formulations. Household pets are especially susceptible to ethylene glycol poisoning from vehicle antifreeze leaks.

Basic Uses of Ethylene Glycol in Industrial Processes

MEG is primarily used as raw material in different forms for carrying out a number of industrial processes including:

Coolant & Heat Transfer Agent- Majorly ethylene glycol acts as a medium for convective heat transfer like in automobiles & liquid cooled computers. As a coolant, it has its usage in chilled water air-conditioners and as a heating fluid, it is widely used in geothermal heat pumps to transport heat.

Antifreeze- Properties of MEG disrupt hydrogen bonding when they are dissolved in water. Usually, it freezes at -12°C, but if it is mixed with it does not crystallize and thus the freezing point is depressed.
This antifreeze property of MEG is used for de-icing fluids for windshields and aircrafts. It is also used for preservation of biological tissues and organs.

Precursor for Polymers- In the plastic industry, MEG is one of the important precursors for a number of thermoplastic resins. It is highly used as a precursor for polyester fibers and resins.
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) which is used to make plastic bottles for carbonated soft drinks and bottled water also are prepared by using this material as a precursor.

Other Uses- It is also used as a dehydrating agent and hydrate inhibition. As a dehydrating agent, it is used in natural gas industry for removing water vapor from natural gas before processing.
As a hydrate inhibition, it is widely used to inhibit the formulation of natural gas hydrates (clathrates) in pipelines which are conveying natural gas from remote gas to processing facility. It can also be recovered by natural gas and reused as an inhibitor.

99.9% Ethylene Glycol CAS No 107-21-1 as coolant agent

It is mainly used in making polyester, polyester resin, hygroscopic agent, plasticizer, surfactant, synthetic fiber, cosmetics and explosives, as solvent for dyes/inks, antifreeze for engine, gas dehydrating agent, manufacturing resin, wetting agent for cellophane, fiber, leather and adhesive. It can produce synthetic resin PET, fiber grade PET namely polyester fiber, bottle chip grade PET for making mineral water bottle, etc. Also can produce alkyd resin, glyoxal, etc., also used as antifreeze. In addition to being used as anti-freeze agent for automobile, it is also used for conveying industrial cooling capacity, which is generally called refrigerant carrier.

Applications

Minor uses of ethylene glycol include the manufacture of capacitors, as a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of 1,4-dioxane, as an additive to prevent corrosion in liquid cooling systems for personal computers, and inside the lens devices of cathode-ray tube type of rear projection televisions. Ethylene glycol is also used in the manufacture of some vaccines, but it is not itself present in these injections. It is used as a minor (1–2%) ingredient in shoe polish and also in some inks and dyes. Ethylene glycol has seen some use as a rot and fungal treatment for wood, both as a preventative and a treatment after the fact. It has been used in a few cases to treat partially rotted wooden objects to be displayed in museums. It is one of only a few treatments that are successful in dealing with rot in wooden boats, and is relatively cheap. Ethylene glycol may also be one of the minor ingredients in screen cleaning solutions, along with the main ingredient isopropyl alcohol. Ethylene glycol is commonly used as a preservative for biological specimens, especially in secondary schools during dissection as a safer alternative to formaldehyde. It is also used as part of the water-based hydraulic fluid used to control subsea oil and gas production equipment.

Ethylene glycol is used as a protecting group in organic synthesis to protect carbonyl compounds such as ketones and aldehydes.

Silicon dioxide reacts in heated reflux under dinitrogen with ethylene glycol and an alkali metal base to produce highly reactive, pentacoordinate silicates which provide access to a wide variety of new silicon compounds. The silicates are essentially insoluble in all polar solvents except methanol.

It also can be used in vaccine manufacture or as a formaldehyde substitute when preserving biological specimens.

It is primarily used as a food preservative (E number 202). Potassium sorbate is effective in a variety of applications including food, wine, and personal-care products. While sorbic acid occurs naturally in some berries, virtually all of the world's supply of sorbic acid, from which potassium sorbate is derived, is manufactured synthetically.

Potassium sorbate is the potassium salt of Sorbic Acid, chemical formula C6H7KO2. Its primary use is as a food preservative (E number 202). Potassium sorbate is effective in a variety of applications including food, wine, and personal care products.
Potassium sorbate is produced by reacting sorbic acid with an equimolar portion of potassium hydroxide. The resulting potassium sorbate may be crystallized from aqueous ethanol.
Potassium sorbate is used to inhibit molds and yeasts in many foods, such as cheese, wine, yogurt, dried meats, apple cider, soft drinks and fruit drinks, and baked goods.

It can also be found in the ingredients list of many dried fruit products. In addition, herbal dietary supplement products generally contain potassium sorbate, which acts to prevent mold and microbes and to increase shelf life, and is used in quantities at which there are no known adverse health effects, over short periods of time.

Usage of Potassium sorbate

Potassium sorbate as a food preservative is an acidic preservative combined with an organic acid to improve the antiseptic reaction effect. It is prepared by using potassium carbonate or potassium hydroxide and sorbic acid as raw materials.Sorbic acid (potassium) can effectively inhibit the activity of molds, yeasts and aerobic bacteria, thereby effectively extending the preservation time of the food and maintaining the flavor of the original food.

Cosmetic preservatives. It is an organic acid preservative. The amount added is generally 0.5%. Can be mixed with sorbic acid. Although potassium sorbate is easily soluble in water, it is convenient to use, but the pH value of the 1% aqueous solution is 7-8, which tends to increase the pH of the cosmetic, and should be taken care of when used.

Potassium Sorbate Powder Applications

Potassium sorbate is used to inhibit molds and yeasts in many foods, such as cheese, wine, yogurt, dried meats, apple cider, rehydrated fruits, soft drinks and fruit drinks, and baked goods. It is used in the preparation of items such as hotcake syrup and milkshakes served by fast-food restaurants such as McDonald's. It can also be found in the ingredients list of many dried fruit products. In addition, herbal dietary supplement products generally contain potassium sorbate, which acts to prevent mold and microbes and to increase shelf life. It is used in quantities at which no adverse health effects are known, over short periods of time. Labeling of this preservative on ingredient statements reads as "potassium sorbate" or "E202". Also, it is used in many personal-care products to inhibit the development of microorganisms for shelf stability. Some manufacturers are using this preservative as a replacement for parabens. Tube feeding of potassium sorbate reduces the gastric burden of pathogenic bacteria.

Also known as "wine stabilizer", potassium sorbate produces sorbic acid when added to wine. It serves two purposes. When active fermentation has ceased and the wine is racked for the final time after clearing, potassium sorbate renders any surviving yeast incapable of multiplying. Yeast living at that moment can continue fermenting any residual sugar into CO2 and alcohol, but when they die, no new yeast will be present to cause future fermentation. When a wine is sweetened before bottling, potassium sorbate is used to prevent refermentation when used in conjunction with potassium metabisulfite. It is primarily used with sweet wines, sparkling wines, and some hard ciders, but may be added to table wines, which exhibit difficulty in maintaining clarity after fining.

Some molds (notably some Trichoderma and Penicillium strains) and yeasts are able to detoxify sorbates by decarboxylation, producing piperylene (1,3-pentadiene). The pentadiene manifests as a typical odor of kerosene or petroleum.

We are supplied to various industrial markets including Household, Institutional Cleaning, Personal Care, and Industrial sectors including Oil fields, chemical, Animal feed additive, Food additive, Agrochemical, Fertilizer, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, Minerals, Lubricants, Marine Industry, Metal Working chemical industry, and Coatings markets.

Potassium nitrate is a chemical compound with the chemical formula KNO3. It is an ionic salt of potassium ions K+ and nitrate ions NO3−, and is therefore an alkali metal nitrate. It occurs in nature as a mineral, niter (or nitre in the UK). It is a source of nitrogen, and nitrogen was named after niter. Potassium nitrate is one of several nitrogen-containing compounds collectively referred to as saltpetre (or saltpeter in North America).

Major uses of potassium nitrate are in fertilizers, tree stump removal, rocket propellants and fireworks. It is one of the major constituents of gunpowder (black powder). In processed meats, potassium nitrate reacts with hemoglobin and myoglobin generating a red color

1.Used for drugs (such as laxatives), fertilizer(about 50% potassium, potassium is a quick, can be used as basic
fertilizer, seed fertilizer and top dressing). Also used for making alum, glass, and potassium carbonate.

2.Potassium Sulphate can be used as the raw material to produce multiple-element compound fertilizer, or as potassium fertilizer to fertilize field, especially applicable to chloride-resistant industrial crops such as tobacco, grape, cotton, beet.

Other uses
Electrolyte in a salt bridge.
Active ingredient of condensed aerosol fire suppression systems. When burned with the free radicals of a fire's flame, it produces potassium carbonate.

Works as an aluminium cleaner.
Component (usually about 98%) of some tree stump removal products. It accelerates the natural decomposition of the stump by supplying nitrogen for the fungi attacking the wood of the stump.

In heat treatment of metals as a medium temperature molten salt bath, usually in combination with sodium nitrite. A similar bath is used to produce a durable blue/black finish typically seen on firearms. Its oxidizing quality, water solubility, and low cost make it an ideal short-term rust inhibitor.

To induce flowering of mango trees in the Philippines.
Thermal storage medium in power generation systems. Sodium and potassium nitrate salts are stored in a molten state with the solar energy collected by the heliostats at the Gemasolar Thermosolar Plant. Ternary salts, with the addition of calcium nitrate or lithium nitrate, have been found to improve the heat storage capacity in the molten salts.

As a source of potassium ions for exchange with sodium ions in chemically strengthened glass.

As an oxidizer in model rocket fuel called Rocket candy.

Nitric acid production

Historically, nitric acid was produced by combining sulfuric acid with nitrates such as saltpeter. In modern times this is reversed: nitrates are produced from nitric acid produced via the Ostwald process.
