Product Short Description: Iron Control Liquid Neutral pH
Product Description:

Iron Control Agent – Neutral Liquid is a concentrated, water-soluble iron sequestrant and stabilizing agent designed to control soluble and potentially precipitating iron in industrial water systems, oilfield operations, chemical cleaning systems, process water, and related applications.

The product is formulated using a synergistic combination of chelating agents, sequestrants, reducing agents, and buffering components. It helps maintain iron in a soluble and controlled form and reduces the risk of formation of insoluble iron compounds during changes in pH, oxidation state, temperature, or process conditions.

The formulation is designed to operate at approximately neutral pH, making it easier to handle compared with strongly acidic iron-control products.

The product is particularly effective in controlling ferric and ferrous iron contamination where dissolved iron may otherwise precipitate as iron hydroxides, oxides, sulfides, or other insoluble deposits.

Product Application:

Function of Iron Control Liquid

Iron Control Agent Neutral Liquid functions through several complementary mechanisms.

Chelation

The complex component forms stable soluble complexes with iron ions, particularly Fe³⁺ and Fe²⁺, thereby reducing the tendency of iron to precipitate.

Sequestration

RXSOL Iron Control Liquid supplements the primary chelation system and helps keep metal ions dispersed and soluble in aqueous systems.

Reduction of Ferric Iron

RXSOL Iron Control Liquid functions as a reducing agent and assists in converting highly reactive ferric iron, Fe³⁺, into the more manageable ferrous state, Fe²⁺.

Ferric iron is often considerably more problematic because it can rapidly form insoluble hydroxides or react with sulfide-containing systems.

Buffering and Secondary Complexing

RXSOL Iron Control Liquid provides additional metal-ion complexation while helping maintain formulation stability and pH control.

Product Dose:

Typical dosage for water treatment:

100-1,000 ppm

For severe iron contamination:

1,000-5,000 ppm

Dosage entirely depends on the acidization and other chemistry.

Oilfield Acidizing / Well Stimulation

Typical starting dosage:

0.5-2.0% by volume of treatment fluid

Actual dosage should be determined from expected dissolved iron loading and compatibility testing.

For high iron levels, additional treatment may be required.
