Sulfamic Acid, also known as Amidosulfonic Acid / Sulphamic Acid, is a water-soluble inorganic acid widely used for industrial descaling, acid cleaning, boiler cleaning, heat exchanger cleaning, cooling-system maintenance and metal-surface treatment. Its chemical formula is NH₂SO₃H and its CAS Number is 5329-14-6. It is normally supplied as a white crystalline powder or crystals.

Sulphamic acid is used as an acidic cleaning agent, typically for metals and ceramics. It is a replacement for hydrochloric acid for the removal of rust. In households, it is often found as a descaling agent in detergents, cleaners and toilet cleaners for the removal of limescale.
One of the most important applications of Sulfamic Acid is mineral-scale removal. It reacts with carbonate deposits and converts them into soluble sulfamate salts, helping detach and dissolve hard deposits from equipment surfaces.
